Lately, I have been especially impressed with Joomla - an open-source (i.e. FREE) content management system. With Joomla, you can have a website that you yourself can maintain. No more paying a webmaster hundreds of dollars to update your site. All you need is a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Setting it up is a bit of a headache, but that's what you can hire ME to do. I can provide training and on-going support also. Check it out here. Does it look good? Hey... you're on a Joomla site right now!

Meanwhile, check out the photos to the left from my England trip. You'll see us at the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, Hyde Park, the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, , the London Eye on the Thames, and the Parliament and Big Ben.

Pilgrimage to the home of Victorian Architecture

The Queen ApprovesGloria kept an eye on airfares until passage to England was too cheap to pass up. We went to London and Bath, stayed in hostels, walked everywhere, and had a wonderful trip. This was my first time out of the country. Next time, I'd like to cross the Channel and hoof around the continent.

There's an entirely different sense of history over there. In the Historic Stuart Neighborhood, our oldest home is 1852. That's just yesterday in England. I like how they recycle their buildings too. Something might start out as a lordly manor, then becomes a bank, a hotel, a bed & breakfast, and - 600 years later - a personal home again. My only complaint is that the London drivers are the worst. Their roads are too narrow, the drivers are too fast, and I never understood why there weren't a lot more accidents on their roundabouts.
